Concerns around eating, weight, and body image can deeply affect self-esteem and mental health. Women First Healthcare offers sensitive, evidence-based treatment and support, helping women develop healthier relationships with food, body image, and themselves.

Our team at Women First Healthcare understands that our weight affects how healthy we are and that the reasons that women may struggle with their weight can be complex. There are lots of factors to consider; these include diet, exercise, medical or mental health conditions, medicines, hormones, age, metabolism, or exposure to stress.

Losing weight can boost your health, confidence, and emotional well-being, but we understand the challenges can be complex and exhausting.

Losing weight can help us to become more confident about our appearance, improve our general health, and improve how we feel. Equally, it can be debilitating to be preoccupied with diet or with a low weight. Difficulties with weight and body image are almost universal and can be exhausting to deal with.

Psychological Therapies



Psychological therapies can help to tackle disordered eating and body image concerns by first seeking to understand when and why difficulties with your weight became a problem for you. From here, we would work together to move towards the goal of developing a more positive relationship with weight and body and also to build up healthy coping skills and helpful ways of managing distress.

We also have links to qualified mental health personal trainers who can offer in-person or online, 1:1 or group personal training sessions.
