Nursing Assessment

Our registered nurses provide comprehensive assessments to evaluate women's physical and mental health. These assessments can help identify any underlying health conditions or factors that may be contributing to their symptoms. Nurses can also provide support and education on health management.

Assessment

Personalised Care & Expertise

Mental health nurses have the privilege of caring for people during some of the most difficult times in their lives and supporting them in a highly personalised way towards recovery.

Our nursing team at Women First Healthcare delivers holistic, high-quality care using a range of evidence-based interventions tailored to meet each person’s individual needs, preferences, and goals.

All our registered mental health nurses have specialist knowledge in their field and are highly skilled in managing distress, anger, fear, and vulnerability. They have a high level of knowledge about mental health difficulties, treatments, and resources and offer person-centred assessment, treatment, and support, drawing upon their own personal experience of working with women who are experiencing a range of difficulties, emotional distress, and/or mental illness.

Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs)

In addition to our team of registered nurses we also offer assessment and treatment from our Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANP).

Our ANP’s are experienced and highly educated registered nurses and clinical leaders who demonstrate advanced-level expertise, knowledge, and skills. They have the skills required to manage the complete clinical care for individuals, not solely any specific condition and are qualified to diagnose and prescribe treatments tailored to your needs.

Comprehensive Assessments & Support

Time will be spent ensuring you fully understand your options and what this means to you, including those important family members or friends that can be a part of the assessment process if desired.

Nursing Treatment

Mental health nursing psychosocial interventions refer to a range of evidence-based practices that can help you to cope with your symptoms, overcome day-to-day challenges, and improve your quality of life. They are not a replacement for structured psychological therapy, medication, or other evidence-based treatment; instead, they work to inform these multidisciplinary treatments, providing a timely, stepped-care approach to your mental health care and treatment.

The aim is to address underlying causes and holistic needs of mental health difficulties and can help you to develop strategies to live meaningful and hopeful lives, providing you with information about your mental health condition and ways that you can self-manage. This can include relaxation techniques, problem-solving skills, coping with your emotions, and stress management.
